Elaine Macpherson is a versatile graphic designer with a multitude of endeavors including advertising, book illustration, and film animation.
Elaine’s graphic design work has included catalogue, book design and illustrations for such diverse clients as the National Gallery of Canada, the Ontario Department of Transport, McGraw-Hill (a 43 book reading and language series used in schools across the Canada and United States of America), Edmonton Northlands and Stampede Park.
She designed, illustrated and published the book, “A Day at the Races,” a detailed look at Thoroughbred horse racing and, to date, over 120,000 copies have been printed and distributed across North America.
She produced animated films for the Ontario Department of Urban Affairs and the City of Toronto, and created the animated title sequences for the Eclipse Award-winning documentaries, “With Flying Colours” and “Thoroughbred.”
Elaine has illustrated works that have appeared in both adult and children's publications such as “Globe and Mail," “Toronto Life," "Harrowsmith," “Owl” and “Chickadee” along with many others using a vast gamut of techniques and subject matter, from pen and ink to watercolour, from fairy tales to high fashion.
